Dealing with bereaved people is not easy and, for most of us, it is not something which comes naturally. It is therefore, important that our trainers are very experienced volunteers, who have helped many bereaved people and who have delivered many courses over the years.
The courses themselves are designed to give people solid skills in understanding and communicating with bereaved people. All our bereavement volunteers have to make a commitment to take Cruse courses.
Our next Bereavement Support Foundation course will be starting on 22nd September 2018 in Hatfield, Hertfordshire. Please see our flyer here.
The course runs over 6 Saturdays, with additional (free) days for those who are accepted as volunteers. Each session consists of a talk or other presentation and time for participants to explore their own feelings and practice skills in small groups. All volunteers must complete this course before becoming a volunteer. We also welcome those who don’t wish to become a volunteer onto the course. The fee for this excellent course is £240. A limited number of bursaries and concessions are available.

But of course there are many other people who could benefit from our training. Perhaps this is particularly true for those working in the health and social service fields. Our training would benefit a range of professional counsellors from many different fields who need to deal with bereavement and the issues arising from it.
