We offer support for children and young people aged 5 to 18. All our volunteers are specifically trained in working with children and young people, and can see the young person in their home or at school.
We are able to work on a one-to-one basis, with siblings or the whole family as appropriate. We can work for as long as necessary, and all our services are free.
Family workshop days
Our children and young people’s family workshop days are well attended and receive excellent feedback. Evie our CYP co-ordinator visits all the families before they attend so they know what to expect and she does the admin including organising the creative activities for the day. At a recent group the children worked on family trees, memory jars, anger bats and had a discussion about their worries using worry worms. These activities are designed to help them express their feelings, be enjoyable and to get support from one another.
The adults who accompany the children have the chance to talk to each other in a safe group with two facilitators and they share their concerns and offer support to each other.
A delicious lunch is also included.
The next Family workshop day will be on 16th June 2018.
